“Friendly, simple place”

This is a good, cheap, and comfortable alternative in Barrio Amon to the many shady hostels in San José (some of which are notorious). The owners are friendly, and there are many great restaurants within walking distance. Most bus terminals are easily accessed from the hotel. We use this hotel as a base from to and from San José. More

The main reason I picked this is because I needed to take morning bus at Bus station caribenos. Guidebooks mentioned this as one of few chances to meet Costa Rican family so I thought it would be more personal than hotel. It wasn't. Just our keys, explanation of showers and request to be quiet since other guests were asleep already... More
