The hotel is in a great spot along the harbor, in a cozy little area close to many other hotels and restaurants. Our room was beautiful, when the large doors to the porch were open, the bedroom looks out over the gardens and you can just see the ocean beyond. The bathroom in our room could use a little updating... More

We hesitate to write this review, because we found Frangipani to be a charming hotel in an ideal location, with a friendly and helpful staff. But we reluctantly add two caveats: First, rooms in the old stone plantation building, where we stayed, have neither windows nor screens, and the wood jealousies do not suffice to keep out mosquitoes and other... I expected more given the price and hype. I had booked a "garden" room and it did indeed overlook the garden, as well as the parking area. Woken at 6am by someone's backup warning. It was on the "ground floor" (the hotel was empty, so just think the receptionist could not be bothered to walk up steps to show me... More

This is a super friendly place with a lovely outdoor bar anbd restaurant overlooking the sea. Food is not as good as the wonderful Gingerbread House restaurant next door (under same managment) but acceptable. They were closing down for two months the last day of my stay so things were a bit hectic and they were out of a lot... More

We booked this hotel to stay during our Friendship Rose schooner sailing excursion. The staff here are extremely friendly and hospitable. We booked the original rooms and it came with two beds, desk, chair, mosquito nets, closet, and wash basin. Toilets and hot showers are shared at the end of the hall and were clean. My only complaint was that... More

Stayed at the Frangi for 4 nights in one of the luxury rooms located up the hill, which have AC. The room had a large 4 poster bed with mosquito net, TV, coffee maker, fridge, cute bathroom and dressing area, and a fab balcony overlooking the bay. The room was clean and comfortable, if a little dark with the patio... More

Perfect central location, just a few minutes' walk on the beach to the ferry dock, a few minutes in the other direction and you can jump in the water for great snorkeling along the coastline. Liked the simple stone and dark wood in the room, and appreciated the mosquito coils and nets – only downside was that with two twin... More

Myself and my G/F have just coming back from a 3 week island hopping adventure in the Caribbean. On our travels we visited the fantastic Bequia and stayed at the equally fantastic Frangipani Hotel in Port Elizabeth, the capital. The location of the hotel is great only a 3-5 minute walk from the ferry dock (with hiking bags and a... More

Before I say anything bad, this is probably the best hotel in bequia. There just is very little selection in Bequia. The Thursday Barbeque that they rave about is fair at best and will cost you almost $80 (us, not ec). The rooms have no air conditioning and are older rooms. They are OK but have not had renovations in... More

I stayed at the Frangipani hotel in April 2009 for 4 nights. The hotel is located within walking distance from the ferry but you can take a taxi to the hotel which is about 3 minutes away and costs about $15EC. I was not able to see any pictures on the internet of the original rooms at the hotel but... More
