Stayed at El Momo for a week, very much enjoyed it. It's an ideal spot for the adventurous/semi-adventurous traveller. This place is a little off the beaten path, and a bit rustic, so if you're used to the lap of luxury this place isn't for you. However, it's very charming and surrounded by beautiful tropical forest. Breakfasts are great, a... More

We spent a whole week on Saba to get away from the cold winter weather while avoiding some of the more busy and overrun places in the carribean. Saba is the perfect place to relax, go on amazing hikes (that get your blood pumping) and maybe throw in a dive or a visit to the (one) spa on the island.... More

I had an amazing trip to Saba. This place is seriously gorgeous, but decidedly low-key. In part, I enjoyed my experience at El Momo. The views were spectacular, the owner was very nice and helpful, the vibe of the place was really friendly and cool. Maybe I am just getting old, but I guess I wanted a bit more comfort.... More

The cottages are situated on the hill in the "jungle" 500m away from the centre of Windwardside. We stayed in the sunshine cottage and from our terrace we had a wonderful view to the ocean. If the guests wish, Andries will cook his famous "Mahi-Mahi in coconut-sauce". We had a wonderful time with hiking all over the island and diving... More

We stayed with El Momo's just for one night but what an unforgettable night it was. The stairs up to the reception seemed a little daunting at first but then you realize you are living on a mountainous volcano and there is no getting away from hills and stairs. We were given the "Cottatge in the sky" and they got... More

I enjoyed two days and nights in December on Saba, a tiny island about 30 miles from St. Marten. I stayed at El Momo Cottages, where friendly host Andries fixed a nice breakfast both mornings in a beautiful balcony overlooking the Caribbean. He was also helpful via email before my arrival in arranging travel to and from St. Marten. There... More

El Momo is a wonderful place. What it lacks in luxury it more than makes up in beauty and service. A great value for the price and a ten minute walk from town, Andries and company made us feel very welcome. Breakfast and the dinner he cooked were outstanding, the views are spectacular and the service attentive and light hearted. More

We really loved this place. In response to some of the complaints below. Yes, there are steps (lots) but Andries will definitely carry your bags up for you. He carried ours all the way to the top cottage. Just turn around and look at the view when you get to the top. It makes the climb worth it every time.... More

As you're climbing and climbing, the owner doesn't help with your bags at the top, instead he claps his hands with mocking glee "you're almost there" and out of breath, he doesn't even reach out to give a hand with bags. And that's just to the office level and the beginning of the nightmare. The bed was so worn out,... More

I stayed in the cricket cottage, one of the cheaper options in el momo and probably on the island of Saba, but even then I got a great view of the ocean plus sunrise and sunset. Laid back atmosphere perfect for a getaway in the Caribbean, especially with Andries as your host! Simple, basic accommodation. Do note that el momo... More
