Food very good and much better than previously reported by other reviewers - best of Jamaican classics - rice and peas was perfect as was the ackee and saltfish for breakfast. I went for a convention from September 28-30. The convention started the 29th so I arrive earlier than most other persons. I asked for a room change and was told that the rooms are already booked for persons arriving the next day. The person at the front desk has no ability to change room if it does not suit you.... The Mandeville Hotel is located right in the middle of town, but because it is on a dead end street in the middle of attractive grounds, it is very secluded. Our room was large and attractive, the restaurant had excellent meals, and the hotel was quiet and comfortable. The staff were efficient and helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay.

I got married at the Mandeville Hotel in April this year (2011) and it was just perfect. The location, venue, ambience, food; everything was just right.
