I almost always stay here when visiting Cap Haitien and really enjoy it. The colonial building has a lot of charm and the grounds are lovely. The restaurant is good, although it could have a little more variety. The rooms vary in design and decoration and I enjoy the variety. I have never swam in the pool as it didn't... More

We drove six hours from Port-au-Prince for business meetings in northern Haiti. The Roi Christophe was an excellent choice for the one night we were in Cap-Hatien. The bathroom had modern amenities, including hot water (thank you.) The shower is designed in such a way that the water splattered onto the rug in front of the sink; a minor inconvenience.The... This was my first trip to Haiti and I stayed here for 3 days in May. Overall my experience was good. I didn't get to use any of the ammenities like the pool Which was okay with me because I am not a fan of pools, but it seemed to be maintained and was clean. The hotel grounds were clean,... More

The only big conference room in the area, very nice, open air lounge with shaded patio. Good food, good service. Nice new rooms with balcony over the pool. Big tropical garden in the city !! definitely a plus Oasis in the middle of town. Owner and manager care.

Got forced into Cap Haitian in our boat after a brutal crossing from the Bahamas. Spent 6 nights at Roi Christoph. Their swimming pool, bar, dining room saved us. Outside the wall of the hotel was chaos and total third world conditions. Did not feel safe until we were behind the wall of the hotel. The only reason you would... More

Arriving here after a medical mission in the countryside, I felt I had arrived in paradise. Open air public rooms included a porch, lobby, dining room and bar. They were decorating for Christmas! Our guest room was huge, air-conditioned, with a flat-screen TV and a REAL bathroom. Yes, I took a picture of it! The reasons I didn't give this... More

To find such a cool place in the middle of such a frenetic city was a treat, as you enter one is reminded of some dowager duchess type hotel with sweaty foreign correspondents and nervous NGO employees sitting around the lobby recovering from or anticipating an assignment or mission. My son and I ended up here by default because IBC... More

There are not too many decent places to stay in Cap Haitien. Of them, very few have pools, or are very expensive. I find this hotel to meet my needs well, and it ihas a good location. Other hotels are much farther out, this one is close to town. You can walk to the artists alley where you can buy... More

With its 18-19th century tropical atmosphere and lush gardens, the "Hostellerie" is a must for visitors with cultural interests. It is adding new guestrooms and I stayed in the new wing, whose rooms are cozy and have balconies over the lovely garden, and good beds and great showers. Service in the restaurant was slow and the staff over burdened, since... More
