Pleasant breakfast, rooftop jacuzzi, gorgeous courtyard area in the shade of a mangotree overlooking the modest, refreshing pool. Dinner and cocktails a little over-priced and a great effort to keep the room mosquito-free, but even so, the personality of this establishment made up for it. More

This was our first Spanish class field trip to another country and the experience is one we will never forget. Although the staff of Hotel Dona Elvira displayed excellent service. I saw it unfair that there was no rooms available for the students of our Spanish trip, even though our Spanish teacher had booked the rooms way in advance for... More

We stayed here in March with our three young children - had the Isabella la Catolica suites which are right off of the lobby. I thought this might be a little uncomfortable having our door open out to where staff always was sitting, but it ended up not being a problem at all. They were very quiet. The rooms were... More

Good things: great, large breakfast of fruit, eggs, toast with butter and jam, coffee, and juice. Nice little pool for kids. The location is excellent-a couple blocks from the pedestrian street and withing walking distance to all Zona Colonial attractions. The staff was helpful and friendly. Bad things: we had a room with a twin bed below and queen upstairs.... More

The Senior Spanish students of my school including myself went on a trip to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in February 2012. We had booked THIS RIP OFF OF A HOTEL as our temporary home while visiting the country. We arrived in the Dominican Republic still very much excited about actually being there. We had to take an extremely long bus... More

A group of students from the Turks and Caicos had treacherously taken their planning and fundraising for our trip. The hotel was the students' main concern as that was going to be our sanctuary for 4 days n 3 nights. We had previously paid this hotel in order to ensure our space would not be hindered. Little did we know... More

Hotel Dona Elvira is not one that I would recommend to anyone who is traveling to the DR. Its services are not only absurd but irresponsible and wreckless. My Spanish Class and I went on a trip to the Santo Domingo , Dominican Republic most recently and we had already booked the HOTEL DONA ELVIRA a week before the trip... More

We stayed only for one night, but arrived at 3 am due to our late arriving flight time. I was nervous that no one would answer the door at such a late hour, but he did instantly. Service at breakfast was courteous and yummy (eggs, cheese, ham, toast, fruit), and the coffee strong just like we needed. The hotel is... More
