Charme of the 70'ees, rooms ok. If you are looking for terrible prostitutes and not for gambling then he casino is ok . You need to be patient when you need something from the reception desk, it takes very long , and check your invoice carefully when you check out..... More

Ok, if you can't drink the tap water, shouldn't the hotel provide the bottled water? Well, the melia santo Domingo does offer the water, for a price. 95 pesos gets you a bottle of water from the minibar in the room if you're thirsty The first packet of coffee in the room is free after that it will cost you... The hotel is not new, but is in perfect shape. I went for business and staff is extremely courteous and friendly. It is clean, with good Internet connection and if you are lucky enough to get a room with a view to the "Malecón", then your mornings will be more than perfect. The choice is quite limited at breakfast but... More

Stayed here for over a weekend on a work trip. The room I had was on the 8th floor but it was still a bit noisy at night with music sounds. That didn't bother me, but I heard someone else at the front desk complaining about the noise. The food was fairly poor. Breakfast was OK, big buffet and a... More

I spent four nights in SD as part of a business trip and the experience was a good one. The it department of the hotel was excellent. When I was not able to connect to the hotel WLan they installed a single WLan router in my room that enabled me to connect to the network. A few down sides, the... More

I spent two nights in SD last week as part of a business summit and the experience was a good one. The hotel gave me a "private" check in because I was visiting as an Embassy official and the floor which I was situated on had its own dining room and lounge so I had the option of staying on... More

I have no complaints about the clenliness, however the rates are a bit pricey. For that price they should at least have a jacuzzi (or two). The pool is a fair size and not many gusts use it. They are strict: You cannot take a guest to your hotel room unless he or she is on the register. More

I stayed at the Melia Santo Domingo for one night in late August and had a good stay. It was well worth the price I paid. The room was large and clean and I got a good night sleep. The public areas were nice as well although I was only in the lobby and the restaurant, I ate both dinner... More

Just came back from the Melia Santo Domingo. They are really trying to live up to the "Welcome to the Melia Experience" slogan. Rooms are completely remodeled, personnel is very courteous and eager to be of service. I have seen a very positive change to a hotel that has been somewhat disappointing for a few years. They are really trying... More
