My wife, our two children, of 4 and 6, and I loved this place. We spent 4 nights at the Papillote, 3 nights in suite n. 11 and 1 night in room 10. Both rooms are spacious, clean and tidy; the suite is huge. The landscape if fantastic: the retreat is actually nested in a botanic garden, which includes a... More

Owner Anne Jno Baptiste made me feel immediately welcome and very much a part of her community at Papillote and that goes a long way for a single female traveller. Even met the handsome Prime Minister there on my very first night! Everything about Papillote makes you want to drop your shoulders and relax. The hot sulphur and cold baths... More

Dominica is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Papillote offers clean and simple rooms in a cultivated environment. With only seven rooms, its almost intimate. The grounds are designed to showcase the island's natural assets: mineral springs, waterfalls, a large variety of plants and flowers which attract several species of birds, insects and lizards, all waiting to give... Sometimes the 1-5 stars rating system doesn't give an accurate depiction. If I could attach an asterisk to my "4 star" rating I would. The Hotel is beautiful; mineral pools, waterfalls, lush gardens, friendly staff, cozy rooms, etc. We both enjoyed our stay and would probably stay here again. I need to give future travelers a beware however; hence the... More

Stayed three nights in one of the rainforest lodges as part of a package.. Beautiful surroundings and gardens. Free garden tour was really informative and helped us enjoy the location all the more. Excellent food and great views from the restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful - although we had a few problems in arranging our pre-paid excursions. Need own transport... More

We spent 3 nights at Papillote after spending 4 nights in northern Dominica. What a dream it was. We had the garden suite (well worth the extra $20 a night). It was a giant room with a large sitting area, a smaller sitting area and a big bed. It was quite plain and maybe lacked charm but very clean and... More

My husband and I, along with our best friends, stayed at Papilotte for a week in June, 2011. It was absolutely fabulous. Although we rented the 2 bedroom ( w/ kitchenette & private sulfur bath) for a bit more, any of the rooms would have been perfect. I actually checked out several of them. The location is gorgeous. You'll be... More

We have just returned from our second stay at Papillote and still love it as much as the first time! We stayed in Room 12 which has a hot mineral pool right outside it's door and we were in and out of it all day long! We also enjoyed taking a dip in the cool pool at the bottom of... More

You heard of paradise, but in Papillote you stay in it. Why? This is what you find at Papillote: waterfalls, hot and cold pools, rainforest, an amazing well kept tropical flower garden spread all over the property, relaxing sounds, and smells. A knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, Marcel, that shows you all of this with details and a smile. Elegant and... More
