We loved this house. Santiago is a very noisy, polluted city and this house, despite being in the heart of town, was a very peaceful place. Our room was spacious, and we had a huge bathroom: both were spotless. The house is overall very beautiful and nicely decorated. The garden is lovely. Maruchi has two cats, a parrot, a dog... More

We stayed at Casa Colonial Maruchi for 2 weeks and then, upon return to Santiago a few weeks later and with an injury, there was no doubt of where were going to stay for another week. Casa Maruchi is a total experience, unique and nurturing. The old casa is like a living museum of Santaria, the owner is a world... More

We got lost on the way here as all the streets have had their names changed recently and none of the locals know the new names. However, when we finally got to the casa we were made to feel very welcome even through it was very late at night. The owner then cooked us a very tasty fish dinner as... More

After realising that I didn't write a review for this casa I thought I should change this. Even it was a year ago I still have positive memories about the place. I stayed there for 2 nights, and I had a very enjoyable stay. The Casa is very central (5 or 10 minutes away from the centre...you literally leave the... More

We had booked for 3 nights and our booking was confirmed by @mail. The evening for arriving we called the casa and then the owner informed us that he had no room.

The first morning after a night of mojitos we woke up whit the sankteria. That day started the Festival del Caribe and Maruchi had a special event at her place. It is a great place to stay. Maruchi, her family and staff are very warm, helpfull and welcome. Santiago is a busy city and most of the time this is... More

Frustrated over the lack of casa recommendations in Santiago? Don't worry your problems are over. Being the best casa we stayed in at Cuba, Casa de Marutchi is a garden of Eden compleat with a hanging garden, a dog, a cat, a parrot and a turtle(!). A apartment block away from central Santiago de Cuba this casa is decorated with... More

We had the pleasure of staying at Casa Colonial Maruchi for 2 days while we took in the sights and entertainment of the city of Santiago de Cuba. The casa is located on San Felix (a one way street which runs in the direction of Parque Cespedes) and is 5 1/2 blocks to the street Aguilera. If you turn right... More
