This was our first trip to Bermuda. We were delighted with the hotel and the accommodations. We received an unexpected upgrade to a one-bedroom suite which was on the bay and was spectacular. We've stayed at the Newstead several times since it opened. At first, we feel in love- beautiful, new, large, clean rooms, great view, nice pool, attentive management. Over the years it has started aging faster than I thought possible. It's progressively become more poorly managed. The hotel is lovely. The 1 bedroom suite we have is gorgeous but unless you are willing to pay $15.00 each way, you can't get into town. The hotel provides ferry service only Monday through Friday across the harbor to Hamilton but you're on you're own on the weekend. They provide no shuttle nor ferry Saturday after 11am and nothing... We were delighted with our accommodations and the entire experience at Newstead. As frequent Bermuda travelers, we've been anxious about seeing this property first-hand. Everything was perfect! I have booked several of my business associates here and they all love it! It is conveniently located across the Harbor from the city and they offer a ferry that will get you there in less than 5 minutes. Wonderful. Exactly as pictured. Food is great, service top notch, ferry and shuttle service a great feature. We did purchase groceries to make some meals in. Grocery store 8 minute walk, they will call you a taxi if you buy too much to walk back. Considering purchasing a unit to return often! Sunset is beautiful. More
