Our family had a magical visit to Cumbria in April 2012. It rained every day, but the perfect location of the self catering Tantallon cottage didn't stopped us from exploring the area with young kids. We would highly recommend any family to stay in this lovely cottage. More

My wife and I stayed here in February 2011 for one evening on the way up to St Andrews in Scotland. We booked Tantallon House cottage online at short notice, and were delighted with our weeks stay. The owners rang to confirm the booking, and to explain that whilst they were going to be away, their son would be there when we arrived, and that a neighbour would be available to deal with any problems that might arise during our stay.... We choose Tantallon house because it was in a quiet relaxing location away from the hustle and bustle The home was marvellous and host and hostess charming. Wonderful place to stay if walking Hadrian's wall or visiting the museums. Quant pubs with a flair of the local scene. More

Stayed in the cottage for a week, while our son was on a dig at Vindolanda. The cottage was the best we have ever stayed in. And the countryside around is stunning. And what made it extra special was our morning greeting from Billy no Mates and Mum, Dad and Hoot too. We will be back. More

I spent one night here arriving after dark and leaving just after dawn so didn't make use of the close proximity to Hadrian's Wall.
