Staff are friendly and pleasant. Serious investment would be needed to bring this place up to anything like modern day standards. Stuck somewhere in the past - being 500 years old isn't an excuse for poor standards. The age of the hotel should be an asset rather than an excuse for dingy carpets and bathrooms. Would not even contemplate standing... More

The most faded grandeur you could imagine. I would not give it 1 star and the thought of staying there would be out of the question - rather sleep in the back of my car !!!! The hotel, bearing in mind its age and position in Odiham, should be a jewel in the crown but sadly not.

This used to be such a good quality hotel with fantastic food and service, what a change in three years since my last visit. It's clean but tatty in all areas the food is simple, dull and I can only think out of a packet. Staff were friendly but was very pub standard ant hotel prices. Please improve what used... More

I stayed for two nights, first night was okay, reasonably comfortable bed, albeit a single, but I slept reasonably well. The rooms are a little out-of-date, but I never spend too much time in the rooms anyway. A little put-off by carpet on the floor in the bathhroom. I have to say that I was a little surprised how quickly... More

My husband, baby and I stayed for one night. Our double room was a bit tired and old fashioned. Nice and warm though. It was the bathroom which really let it down: the toilet had faeces (or something) in the bowl (yuk). The bath had grit in it and the glasses weren't clean either. I was so glad we weren't... More

We stayed at the George for one night on the way to visit friends. The location is great, and the newly opened bistro 'Next Door' is excellent with great food and service. The rooms are a disappointment though, very dated and I didn't think anyone still had carpet in bathrooms. I booked the hotel as we had to find a... More

We had visited the George in the past but not for well over a year. Often we meet family or friends travelling from the South West as it's conveniently near the M3. On this occasion I had tried to find a place for a quiet lunch with my wife who's in hospital recovering from a stroke but allowed out on... More
