Thanks for your comments. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and took the opportunity to venture into Cheadle. Having blackout curtains is certainly an idea we need to look into. Thanks for the suggestion. Regards Phil & Helen More

Myself and my boyfriend had a lovely stay at The Laurels on Sunday 5th May. The host was so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was fresh and plentyful, nothing was any trouble. Bedrooms in need of a little modernising although very cosy and clean. Went for tea at a pub called Ye Olde Star Inn that is literally a minute or... More

This was the first B&B my hubby and I have stayed in and can honestly say I think I'll be staying in preferred B&B's instead of corporate hotels. The staff we met were the two owners - Phil and Helen. Super friendly, and not so much so that it became invasive. Just pleasant :_ rooms were a little dated but... More

Four poster room - don't book if you have broad shoulders or you will send the whole time walking like a crab. Very small room, the en-suite was huge. The kettle lead was to small so you had to take it off the table to plug it in. Not enough sugar in the room, 2 sachets with 3 tea bags... More

Thanks for your review. You posted similar comments on Booking.com last week and made some helpful suggestions. Immediately after this we purchased a new kettle with a longer lead. We always mention to our guests that they are free to ask for more tea, coffee or milk in their rooms. I would have been more than happy to top up... More

Thanks for your kind comments. It's good to hear you enjoyed your stay. I've had a look at the bed in room 3 but can't find the cause of the creak . I'm now going to take it completely apart to get to the bottom the problem! Regards Phil & Helen More

We booked this place through Lastminute.com, at, well, the last minute. We arrived late in the evening and they were very friendly and accommodating despite the late hour. The room was lovely with very pleasant decoration. Everything was clean and well maintained. Breakfast in the morning was a real highlight. Personal friendly service and a great selection. The Laurels was a lovely B&B. I was very grateful for them emailing me a map of the B&B and how to get there as the Satnav didn't take you there when the postcode was entered. Very conveniently located to Alton Towers. I couldn't fault the staff at all, nothing was a problem for them and they were so friendly.... More

Catherine It's nice to hear you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed our breakfast. Our sausages are hand made by a local farmer using high quality ingredients. I'll certainly be passing on your comments to him. Sorry about the bed being a bit creaky. I'll have a look at it asap to see what the issue is. More
