So the first impression I had of our room was the smell of urine that engulfed you the moment you stepped inside. I smelled like someone had peed on the rug the night before we got there. Once we kept the windows open and sprayed some perfume it seemed to subside but it was down right disgusting. I wouldn't walk... More

This is a convenience store with two gas pumps and some rooms on the second floor. The "restaurant" is open for pizza, 6-7PM. That's it. The front desk closes at 7PM. The building is run down, including the rooms. They tell you that hot water takes 15 minutes to get to the room in the morning. Room prices, for what... More

This facility really doesn't have that much going for it other than its location. It IS located between Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park, that should be your main reason for deciding to stay here. We stayed here for two nights and had a nice oppurtunity to explore both National Parks without the long drives back and forth... More

The most disappointing stop-over during our 15 day trip and we were expecting more for the price we paid. The lodge accomodation was severely lacking with poorly furnished rooms with paper thin wall - we could clearly hear every word, sneeze and snore from the guests in the next room! The dormatory style set-up was totally inadequate and not too... More

We spent so much time out and about in the park we only needed a comfortable place to stay the nights during our 4 day trip, and this was just perfect. I just had to use the extra blanket to make the bed comfortable enough for me, but my husband slept fine without the extra padding.

I'll start off by saying that I preferred the nearby Montecito Sequoia Lodge, but if you aren't into the kid/family dynamic, then this is your place for a comparable price. If this place was not where it was and so convenient to Kings Canyon and Sequoia, it would be in the 2-3 star range. Having said that, it is a... More

We travelled down from yosemite. Room was OK. There was in ice machine but no fridge. Continental breakfast was included in the price and we ate pizza in the evening. Catering was pretty basic but OK. My kids were pretty impressed to see bear poo in the car park when we left for L.A.. There is a short trail down... More

We stayed at Stony Creek lodge three nights at the end of July 2012. The room was large (for two persons we had two queen beds plus one small bed) and clean; the only thing we missed was a fridge. The stuff was helpful and kind. The breakfast basic but food eatable. We visited restaurant to eat pizza once. Many... More

Stony Creek Lodge is really just a few rooms over the general store next to the gas station. They do have a small comfy lounge with sofas and a fire place. Continental breakfast was adequate. We didn't try the pizza (the only other hot food for lunch or dinner). Room was comfortable and clean, although as others have stated, hot... More

The room was simple and quaint. The staff was friendly and helpful. The best part of this lodge was the location. It was about 10 miles from the bustle of the lodgepole area so the wildlife was abundant at Stony Creek. I believe the lodge was built in the 1920's and therefore doesn't have the up to date amenities of... More
