We stayed in a Frontier cabin for two nights and all in all it was fine. These cabins are close to the lodge, which is convenient, and they aren't as close together as the Pioneer cabins a bit farther down the road. They are tiny, only enough room for one twin bed and a double bed shoved in the corner,... More

The North Rim still retains some of the wildness that personifies the spectacle of the Grand Canyon, in a manner long since lost on the tourist-dense South Rim. We have stayed in the rim cabins and frontier cabins, the former a bit less rustic but both very charming (the rim cabins we reserved over one year in advance and they... More

In spite of the north rim being billed as more remote than the south rim, the terrace overlooking the magnificent canyon is like a railway station, constant movement of bodies and the inevitable loud-mouth to spoil the experience, made worse by the drone of aircraft passing overhead. There should be a whisper or sign language rule for quiet reflection! Stayed... More

Yes, there are plenty of downsides to "rustic" motels and cabins. This ain't Las Vegas. But show me anywhere in Las Vegas with the view we had from our little rim side cabin.... miles and miles of absolutely incredible vistas out the window next to our bed or from the rocking chairs on our little porch. Yes, we had a... More

First, this is the real Grand Canyon experience. In stark contrast to the Disneyworld of helicopters and burger bars of the South Rim, the North Rim is wilderness and views at altitude, so it's a summer only resort. Log cabins are small and comfortable but can get cold at night and are so close together that it can be noisy.... More

We absolutely loved staying in the historic pioneer cabins & our kids requested that we return here when planning our recent South West National Park vacation. Our first visit was in 2005 when our triplet children were 11 years old and our recent visit was when they were 18 years old. The cabins are ideal for families with children since... More

These cabins & the restaurant at the hotel absolutely prepared us for our "Ladies 50th birthday backpacking" trip from the North rim to the Outhouse rim. The cabins were quaint, low profile with comfortable bedding. The restaurant had beautiful views and wonderful food and service. It was all we had hoped for and more!

When you enter the lobby of this rustic lodge watch out. The view straight ahead, through the large picture windows, will take your breath away and make you forget to look where you're walking...stairs down ahead to the lounge area and stairs to the right to the dining room. Wife and I came here by 5-hour shuttle from the south... More

Secluded, quiet, magical! After visiting the South rim for 3 days we traveled ot the north rim for two additional and so glad we saw both sides! They are very, very different. The views are fantastic the same, but the experiences are both great in their unique ways. North lodge is quiet and cabins were well-kept. We got in late... More

Great visit with our family of four. North Rim is less crowded and lovely overall. We enjoyed our cabin accommodations. Nice restaurant on site too. The Grand Canyon is so beautiful, what a fantastic vacation! We hope to return!
