Pros: -Smallish campground usually means less noise -Has a shuttle stop at a camp store. Cons: -Compared to Two Medicine and Many Glacier (other campgrounds on the eastern side of the park that we stayed at) this campground had FAR more mosquitoes even though you couldn't see the lake from the campground. -People had fed the squirrels and one even... This was a very nice campground typical of National Park campgrounds.. Small so that helps keep down the noise. Bears were active in the campground a ranger told us. Rising Sun is a little small for a campground in a prime spot. But the sites are well spaced and the location on GTTSR is ideal. The only downside is that there is only 1 shower per gender at the campstore. Try to get a spot on the western loop next to the cliff area. Seems to get the most... More
