My partner and I were traveling from Australia. We decided to stay here over furnace creek as it was a little cheaper. We booked a smaller room, but were pleasantly surprised to get the deluxe room with two beds and a tv. The room was spotlessly clean, the beds very comfortable and the aircon great. It was 47C and stinking... More

We stayed here while visiting Death Valley. The weather was stinking hot and it is literally in the middle of nowhere. This place is a gem. We had a king deluxe room- it was spacious and the room is kept cool. Aircon works perfectly for the weather outside. The bed is comfortable. They have one of the best pillows we... More

I love Death Valley and have camped there several times. This time taking a trip with my 73 yr. old mom so looked at Stovepipe vs Furnace Creek Ranch for motel options and was very happy with Stovepipe. It was as described on their site, basic rooms with some fun quirky updates. Quieter and out of the hustle and bustle... More

Visiting DV is not about the hotels; as long as there was AC and a swimming pool we were fine! I would rather stay at Stovepipe Wells again than go to Furnace Creek for one reason and reason only--at least, at Stovepipe your focus is on the true beauty of DV than the ammenities! Death Valley has so much to... More

Stayed at the end of April 2013 in a deluxe two queens..... Room seemed recently updated, and everything was in working order... TV/fridge/lighting/AC....... Had stayed at furnace creek about 10 years ago, and its obvious the park has been updated... Basic services, but remember its death valley.. Frequented the general store and the saloon, both friendly service... Would stay again... More

We rode in from Havasu & should have done our research on how HOT is was going to be. 106 in Death Valley on this day. So when we came across the Bar & Hotel at Stovepipe Wells I was elated. I was lucky enough to get one of the 2 rooms left. Our parking spot was right in front... More

The hotel is very basic, a little old fashion, but well kept. Some rooms have TV, some not. There is a swimming pool but not many people using. Behind the reception office, there is a gift shop. Outside the gift shop, there are lounges to watch TV, and a couple of computers that connects to the Internet. There is also... More

I stayed for five nights. The room and the bathroom are small but functional. I did see four bugs crawling around which included one looking like a scorpion. The internet is extremely slow. For those who are planning to go to Racetrack, this is the closest place to stay unless you like to camp out. Across the road, the general... More

My wife and I shared a deluxe room with our son and daughter-in-law for four nights in late March. Our son made the reservation. We arrived several hours before he did and we were told we couldn't get into the room until he arrived and checked in unless he said it was OK. We tried to call him but there... More

OK, so it is the only place to stay for 50 miles around, and the next stop is Furnace Creek which is a small city in the middle of Death Valley (if you want a crowd in a desert you are better served in Vegas or Palm Springs!). The concessionaire changed hands about two years ago and the place has... More
