We (cyclist group) found that there is no better place to stay in Death Valley National Park. Our group of fifteen was warmly welcomed by reception. We made reservations for our rooms well in advance and were very lucky that they had a sudden cancellation and had room for the one extra cyclist we had in our group. The restaurant... More

We stayed there on our recent trip to Death Valley and enjoyed our stay. We got a deluxe room which included a small refridge and TV. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room needs a bit of updating but it is aokay for a few days. The gas there is expensive but about 70 cents then... More

Very beautiful and desolate setting. No cell service was a plus. The staff was helpful, the rooms were adequate and clean. Will definitely be back. More

The motel rooms at Stovepipe Wells are nice and they have a new management team at this location. Be sure not to miss the great selection of draft beers on tap in the bar! This motel is close to attractions in the northern section of Death Valley. They had problems in the restaurant the night we were there; only two... More

My husband & I visited this hotel durin gour round trip in October 2011. We only stayed one night but would have happily stayed longer! We stayed in anout 10 different hotels during our road trip but this was one of the best. We were afraid of what it would be like, but the bar was great, room lovely &... More

After reading some of the other reviews, I hesitated about booking into Stovepipe Wells, but I was very glad that I did. The hotel is in a quiet part of the park; the desert is just outside the door. The stars at night are amazing. The staff at check-in were welcoming and efficient. No TV, no cellphone and spotty Internet are... More

Nice location - woke up early and went sledding down the sand dunes. Enjoyed looking at the stars at night (the office has binoculars that can be borrowed). The staff was very helpful. Rooms were okay for the desert - but I was happy I was only spending one night there. More

Compared to Furnace Creek Ranch, this hotel room is cheaper, but also a noticeable step lower. The room is quite small (2 double beds) and the wall is thin and we could hear converation from the other side of the wall. The wall also would shake when the people next to us slam the door shut (the door to our... More

If this motel was anyplace else in the world, I would probably give it a lower rating. Located near the center of Death Valley meant a lot to us, so we paid the higher price for a room here. But next time we'll just stay in Beatty, where the rooms are much better and much cheaper! Our room was clean,... More

Okay. I have spent the night in Death Valley at least 9 different times, and I'll tell you why I prefer Stovepipe Wells. First, its a nice historic hotel (most people say motel, but in the original days, when Amelia Earhart's widower owned the place (true story - he bought it after she disappeared over the Pacific) all hotels had...
