Our 2007 trip was our second to the ancient village of Barrea, our "family seat" in Italy -- we also went in 2006 and stayed for the first time at La Scarpetta. That first year, not knowing family -- or if we still had any family there -- we booked at La Scarpetta on the strength of its Web site....

My husband and I were very pleased with the beauty, cleanliness, hospitality, service, room size, breakfast......everything about this unique bed and breakfast! When we return to Barrea for another visit, we will most certainly stay at La Scarpetta di Venere again.
