During my first week as a visiting American professor, University College Cork, a faculty colleague recommended Caisleain Oir Hotel as the ideal base to use in discovering the beauty of the rugged, rockbound coast of northwest Ireland, where mountains rise several thousand feet from the shoreline. For great hospitality and the very best value, he told me, you have to... More

This is a lovely small hotel. The bar's nice; the food's good and not too dear; the place is clean and warm and everyone was friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit generic, no local flavour at all, but they have everything you need; powerful shower, a bathtub, plenty of towels, comfortable bed (though a bit small), clean and... More

I've just returned from a second visit to Caisleain Oir, and wasn't disappointed! Staff are still friendly and very helpful. Admittedly plenty of external noise at night, but this is only to be expected at New Year! Breakfast was substantial, but not too filling, and the bar meals reasonable value. Not the most "disabled friendly" place at the moment, but... More

The hotel is family owned and run and everyone goes out of their way to make sure your visit is fantastic. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The food is excellent. I stayed for several days while my hometown team was playing in the World Series. Joe, one of the owners, found ESPN for me so I could... More

Food was excellent. Good quality, good price. Service was by and large very good with most staff being helpful & friendly. Rooms were decent sized and clean. Good view from rooms at the front of the hotel. More

I spent two nights there was was very impressed. A small, family run hotel, the staff were friendly and accomodating, while the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. We ate at the hotel both nights and the food was very good and very reasonably priced. Along with the beautiful views, the location to was lovely and located close to a... More

We ate there twice in late July 2011 , the first time was ok however the second time the service was terrible I dont mind mistakes being made but the staff were very rude and grumpy especially the owner or manager a man in his fifties , one of the barmen was pleasent. More

Hotel rooms very clean and tidy. Staff very friendly and polite. Great breakfast and choice, restaurant food also very good and big old portions too. Lovely view from rooms over the bay. Hotel situated in very quiet area and just a few minutes drive from a great white sanded beach. Great long weekend stay and will be back again soon. More

We were staying in Donegal town and decided to go for a day out to Glenveigh national park. On the way back we decided to stop here to eat . So, i have no idea about the rooms etc, however, the food was excellent, very good value, and i would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending it More
