I have never written a review before, but this is something I've been meaning to do since we visited in jan 2013. Me and my husband had got ourselves a puppy a few months before we got married, and so started the difficulty with trying to find some where that will allow us to bring a 3month old puppy with... Fantastic weeks stay with good weather and very little rain. Barn well equipped with everything you could possibly think of to make your break relaxing, enjoyable and a home away from home. Enjoyed lovely walks around the local area of which Dovedale must be our favorite. The log stove was fab after a days walks to ward off the chill... More

My husband and I stayed in Douglas' Barn for a long weekend and it was amazing! We had a lovely warm welcome from Tom and Marion with homemade cakes and spent the weekend exploring the derbyshire countryside (although we could have spent the whole time in the cottage!). The barn itself is so well equipped, I don't think there is... More

A four day break at Tom's Barn is just not long enough. A truly wonderful place to stay, with absolutely every luxury provided. But this cottage deserves more than a five star rating, as it has little touches of thoughtfulness impossible to find elsewhere - the woodburner was lit on arrival; a tray (complete with starched traycloth) was set with... We were not able to arrange annual leave for the more usual Mon - Fri stay but as we were to find out, Marion & John will go out of their way to do whatever they can to please. We arrived to a warm welcome that made you feel instantly at home. We stayed in Douglas's barn and it was... More

Our second visit to Tom's Barn. Just as last time it was fantastic. The weather was wet but inside we were as snug as a bug in front of the log fire. This was part two of our honeymoon, and we was just as happy here as we were in The Canaries. John and Marion are wonderful people and can... More

A wonderful slice of heaven in the Peak District national park. Our stay was magical even in the wettest of weather. They have thought if everything you could possibly need. Hope we will go back again soon.

We have just returned from our second visit, but first to Tom's Barn and again we have had a wonderful break in these gorgeous barns. It is very difficult to choose between Tom's or Douglas's Barns, so I would recommend you try both. We loved the fact that during the time we stayed it was very cold and we could... More

We had a fantastic stay in Douglas Barn. It's got fantastic amenities, everything you could wish for in the kitchen, probably the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in, great local pubs within easy distance and interesting places to visit. It's not just that the place has character, that we got that sense of tranquility and relaxation we were looking... More

Perfectly peaceful, spotlessly clean, always unobtrusive but readily available hosts and a lovely welcome (including home made cake), what more could you ask for? We chose to holiday in our own county and were delighted to find this gem. We cannot recommend it highly enough. Karen and Rod H.
