This is a real gem, tucked away in pretty countryside south of Burgos on the outskirts of a beautiful old village. This hotel was a great find. Covarrubias is a wonderful town on the Camino del Cid. Many of the scenes from "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" were filmed near here, including the closing shootout at Sad Hill. The hotel is wonderfully decorated in rustic style. My husband and I stayed at the Dona Sancha for 3 nights in may. We had a room at the front with spectacular views from the balcony. The owners were friendly and very informative about the area. The breakfasts were good and varied. Covarrubias is a short walk away with plenty of excellent restaurants. A hidden gem ! More
