Always read reviews. I didn’t for this one for it was highly recommended by a friend. My fault. I was really looking forward, in fact I was super excited for this trip since I’ve heard of the gentle giants/butanding, what could have been a great vacation for me turned out to be a disaster, I had 100+ bites I when... The island and the resort itself could be beautiful. What it lacks is a proper manager and more cooperation with the local community. The rooms are big but the air conditioning had a hard keeping the room cold. The rooms, resorts, equipment etc needs rehab and a makeover as they look dirty and old. The eternity pool is dirty as... The island and the facilities are very nice. A quiet and good place to relax and get away from everything. The sand is not very fine as its mostly a coral beach but snorkelers will enjoy the surrounding waters. It's a small island and you can hike the entire place in an hour. There are kayaking and snorkeling gear that... More

Our family was really looking forward to this trip but we were disappointed when we got to the resort. The rooms really need a lot of repair and some updating. Rooms are really dark. You cant open the main sliding door to let some natural light in because it will make the room hotter and humid and defeat the purpose... More

Although situated outside of the mainland, the resort fails to be the total getaway I had expected it to be. Having no good stretch of beach as it's own exclusive perk, the sandbar becomes the only real beach experience possible but it has to be shared with people from nearby Oslob, the tides, and the current. This becomes restrictive because... More

Dear EdS16, We sincerely apologize for the experience you have with the native inhabitants of the island. We want you to know that we are doing our very best to control and eradicate these rodents. But Sumilon being a protected area we also consider the threat of haphazard extermination methods to other species like birds, the Philippine monitor lizard as... More

The water gets better once you reach Sumilon ,... More

my friends and I were trying to visit the island for their sand bar last weekend. since it was still underwater we decided to go up the rocks and look for some shades under the trees when a lifeguard and a guard approached and brusquely announced that we are not allowed to step foot in the island since we're not... I cannot erase the smile on my face as I saw the glamping tents. They were perfectly equipped with the basic (and luxurious) needs of a wannabe camper. I've never seen anything like this. The service is excellent. We had our own butler / camping assistant. He looked and checked out on us all the time. He brought us anything... More
