We ended up in Batu after Gunung Bromo with two days to kill of a four-day trip to east Java as other hotels in Malang proper were booked up. It's a 2-hour drive from Gunung Bromo. Very pleasant setting in a valley of flowers and small garden plots, cool weather, fresh, sweet air that one wished could have been bottled... More
