We stayed 2 nights in June when the weather was magnificent. This was our first visit and it is a mixed bag of a place. The setting is stunning and we had a top floor room with great views over crinan bay with views to Jura and Mull. The hotel was very quiet and probably not half full. We ate... More

Don't look for brash, up to the moment tourist gloss here. We were received with quiet charm and consideration and loved our stay here in this delightful spot which is at the end of the road as well as at the sea-lock at the end of the beautiful Crinan Canal. Food was good as was the wine........ a truelly delicious... More

We had stayed once before many years ago and were enthralled with the view over Loch Crinan. On this occasion we arrived without a reservation and were made welcome. The product is perhaps been superceded and fashions have moved on but this is still a comfortable place to stay. Its been years since I've received a hand-written bill. The food... More

Stopped here for a drink with boat moored up nearby. This is the only place that you can get a drink so they have made it there decision to rip you off. On entering the small bar a tv had been precariously placed on a seat to show some football. We were met by an extremely grumpy man in a... More

We popped in for a drink one evening, and I'm glad it was only one. This place is extremely expensive (we had been warned by the lock keeper - she was right), at nearly £12 for three drinks, and what made it worse was the partcuarly grumpy bar man. Which bit of customer service can be so hard, when you're... More

We stayed 1 night and the weather at Crinan was fantastic. Yes it's possibly a bit eccentric (the hotel appears to be run on paper ledgers and theres no computers in sight!) but that is part of the charm of the place. The room had a great view and was clean with a very comfortable bed. The decor seemed fairly... More

Just back from an overnight stay at the Crinan Hotel. Lovely helpful staff. Hotel far removed from the standard chain hotel and all the better for it. We ate in the seafood bar which was excellent. Fantastic location with views over Crinan Loch. Being able to stay with our fairly bouncy Labradoodle was a bonus as he hates sleeping in... More

Was a bit unsure after reading some of the comments on trip advisor but we decided to go ahead and come as a family to the Crinan hotel. Spacious comfortable room with extra beds for the children amazing views from the bedroom window. Lots to see and do in the area. Children enjoyed the boat trip and also the Beaver... More

I have been surprised about some of the views regarding the Crinan Hotel. Of course it's eccentric, that's a major part of it's charm but the reasonably newly named "Seafood Bar" has been a constant joy over many, many years. We ate there last week on a glorious sunny day (hottest area in the UK), after a lovely walk along... More

Beautiful location but this hotel is struggling to justify the price of the rooms. The room I was in had a fabulous view but the window didn't close properly and rattled all night and with the wind off the water it was really cold. I had meetings to go to in the morning so the breakfast starting at 8 was... More

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry we did not realise there was a problem. We do have a number of guests who come on busines, and if they advise us we are happy to serve them an early breakfast. Regards, Nick and Frances More
