Just back from a two night break at the Crinan Hotel - what a great place! The weather was superb and the sunsets to die for. There is always something going on at the sea lock and the canal was busy which made it interesting to watch. The food was terrific especially the langoustines which we saw delivered by the... More

Many other reviews speak of the natural beauty of the area and the wonderful views over to Jura from your room. However equally importantly the staff (led by the indefatigable Catherine) are perfectly hospitable and make sure that all your needs are met. The food and drink in the Seafood Bar (more formal restaurant also available) are excellent and good... More

The Crinan Canal basin is magnificent , add the views out west to Jura - and be lucky enough to be there when the sun is shining and you are in one of the most beautiful spots in Scotland. The Crinan Hotel is in the centre of this , with rooms looking over the basin and out over the islands... More

it was perhaps our fourth stay in the last ten years, and it has maintained its place among our favourites. The hotel is in a marvellous position. A glass of sauvignon and a plate of sea food taken on the terrace overlooking the Crinan Canal basin is a rare treat. The fabric and decor is true to itself, with some... More

Always wanted to stay here since one of our crew had a bath after falling off the pier 40 years ago!. We took advantage of a weekend deal 2 nights breakfast and evening meal. Glorious weather from Friday to Sunday so no finer place to be !. We are keen on our seafood so when the menu stated prawns landed... More

The hotel is perched above the water close to the sea lock of the Crinan Canal. Most or possibly all of the rooms are at the front so have great views over the water and out to some of the islands. The bulding is perhaps slightly old-fashioned in style but comfortable. We felt that £45 for dinner in the main... More

What a beautiful location. We were at the Crinan with a voucher and what a room we were given. The room was very spacious and spotless. We could see over to the Paps of Jura and got some great photos. The food was delicious. The staff could not have been more attentive. We had a lovely break. We would recommend... More

We stayed here for an overnight as part of an accommodation deal, and were pleasantly surprised with this beautifully located hotel at the Crinan canal basin. A warm welcome was given on arrival and after an efficient check-in, we were shown to a comfortable standard double room on the second floor. The spacious room with ensuite facilities and spectacular views... More

This was a Christmas present and just a one night stay. Quite remote location and hard to find, but well worth the effort. We had a room with balcony on the top floor, there is a lift, lovely room very comfortable. Food is mainly seafood, no prawns though, was okay but if we were there longer than one day then... More

Sorry..I really tried to enjoy Too old, too arrogant, took my mother, I travel and have been away for a while, this was a real treat, looking forwards to real sea food. I felt I was assessed not welcomed by waiters, and quite frankly the whole place needs a makeover from customer care, quality and pricing. 1980's, nothing more.. More
