If you are in this area treat yourself and stay here! We kept pinching ourselves - the property is magical. we fully expected Mr Darcy to ride up at any moment.. Room was very nice, had a wonderful 5 star dinner that was delish! Slept great, got up and wandered the grounds down to the canal, totally wanted to stay... More

My husband and I always look forward to our stay at this hotel when travelling back and forth to the UK. Having stayed many times we can honestly say that we have never been disappointed. Booking is easy, the owners speak excellent English and the welcome is always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are superb; large, comfortable and well... More

A lovely hotel. A bit thought provoking that here we were in luxury when in WW1 it served as a military hospital for the poor soldiers caught up in that dreadful period . However it was a delightful stay (one night, but we would have liked longer). Staff were friendly and efficient. Both dinner and breakfast very good. Although the... More

Happened upon this chateau while in the area and since it was raining we decided to stay. Given a lovely small room with a nice bathroom on 3rd floor - elevator was a plus. Had a nice dinner there that evening but decided to skip breakfast. Grounds were lovely but due to weather we couldn't explore much. Staff was very... More

We were driving back home after a tour in France and at 7 p.m. on the motorway we decided it was time to find an hotel. We saw a signal of the Hotel and we decided to go there. What a surprise! it was a real castle in a peaceful landscape! We got a very nice 2 floors room, beaytifully... More

My wife and I recently enjoyed two nights at Le Chateau des Monthairons (Mountain of the Herons) while touring the battlefields of Verdun. Situated on over 100 acres of combined parkland and forest, it is everything you'd expect a chateau to be. Plus the staff is extremely helpful and polite. It’s a fine hotel and offers good value for money.... More

Perhaps we were fortunate to be at the Chateau in the low-season, for our stay was truly delightful. After a change in itinerary, I e-mailed the property and received a phone call the next morning letting me know they could accommodate us. Upon our late arrival (9pm), they kept the restaurant open for us, even when we requested a light,... More

Spent one afternoon in the spa. Spa is small but with just the two of us, it was the perfect way to spend an afternoon in Lorraine. Great dinner, not overly stiff. Felt more like a New England inn than a French chateau. Very attentive service. Excellent rooms, full wifi connectivity even in our corner room. Remote location. Will remodel... More

You are expected to be overawed with the fact that this hotel is housed in a beautiful chateau. The cost of staying there is astronomical for what amounts to be just a B & B and a not very comfortable one at that with breakfast costing extra. For example, our room, no 16, was a duplex with beautiful views of... More

+ the room (a superior + one) was wide, lightful, recently refurbished, well equipped (good refrigerator, 2 tv, 2 toilets). - Room must face on the park ! My was facing on the court and this was a problem because it is small and just over there is a kind of farm with deposit of caterpillar. This is not the... More
