We have just stayed at DVFC for two nights with two kids. We were very respectful that it was a research station and as tourists we came second - but i highly recommend it. DVFC opened up to tourists just a few years ago. If you are planning to stay at DVFC, be aware that it is a research center and not really meant to serve tourists.
