We stayed here for two nights to attend a family wedding nearby. We had a family room with an ensuite bathroom. The room was quite cramped for four (there was a double bed and bunks). I have been a couple of times before but only for a drink when camping locally. The menu had a good choice & the food itself was top class. Good portions but not too huge. A good value meal & good beers on tap.

Popped in on our way to our hotel, the cliffemount, for a drink with our dogs. The man behind the bar was very friendly and pulled a fantastic pint of black sheep! Great atmosphere and after our bad experience at the cliffemount the day after we will definitely be staying here on our next visit to runswick bay!

Stayed here expecting less than we found, the room was comfortable the staff friendly and the food excellent, we would stay again without hesitation. The location is handy for exploring the area around Whitby and the little villages nearby.
