My husband and I traveled for the first time to Casperia, Italy looking for an escape close to Rome. We parked at the free public lot at the base of town and walked the charming stone pathway up through the town to La Torretta (signage was excellent). We were greeted by Roberto who showed us around his lovely historical home... More

La Toretta is an amazing combination of old world charm and elegance combined with stunning architectural details and terraces. The rooms are more than adequate, lovely cotton sheets, down duvets, and easy access to frig, kettle and lounge, with fireplace area. The dining area upstairs opens out to a large terrace with stunning views. Changed our mind and stayed two... More

I just spent a week at La Torretta during my first trip to Italy. Casperia is a beautiful mountain top town and La Torretta was a wonderful place to stay. Maureen and Roberta and their daughters were great hosts. We especially appreciated Roberto driving us around (if you don't have a car, Casperia can be a bit of a transportation... More

Rome is probably our favourite city and we have been many times but like to include somewhere peacefull and beautiful nearby to complete our Italian experience and we found La Torretta b&b in the small medieval village of Casperia to be a perfect choice, after the hectic days in Rome. You can take a train from Trastevere or Tiburtina stations... More

When we were planning our trip to Rome, we wanted to go to an Italian cooking class. We looked online and came across La Torretta and discovered it was a bed and breakfast as well. We decided to go for an over night. What a very pleasant surprise. It is a short train ride north of Rome. This is a... More

La Torretta for trip Advisor 2/9/13 We spent 5 nights at La Torretta B &B Historical Home, (www.latorrettabandb.com). It was a great experience, the rooms were clean and the breakfast plentiful. Excellent location in the countryside, outside Rome. Our English speaking hosts, Maureen and Roberto Scheda were very informative as to nearby places and activities, and arranged for us to... More

I stayed at La Torretta this past October and it was an even better experience than my first stay in 2010. The village is vital and alive, the home has beautiful bones, so to speak, and the collections of Maureen and Roberto, the exceptional hostess and host, make it even more visually stunning. the winding stairs of the village, the... The area of Casperia is a medieval town dating back 1000 years, and is set on a hillside, as you approach the town through the country roads it can be seen, and if possible stop in a lay by and take a picture as its very picturesque. The town doesn't allow any cars in the heart of the town so... More
