After three weeks in Panama we ended up in this hotel on Isla Grande. The rooms are overpriced: 69dollar for a double with no airco and cold water, but they call themselves a ecolodge, so for us that was no problem. That there is a strange blue chemical water in the toilet is a little bit controversy. The sheets and towels... More

We provide a detailed website informing of our rates and services provided including numerous photos of the hotel, the rooms, and the hotel grounds as we strive to manage guest expectations. After personally viewing the available room, this couple stated the hotel was below their standards. We offered concierge services and recommended another hotel on the island with a rate... More

I stayed here quite a few times the view is spectacular food is great and service is excellent along with a hip surfer/backbacker crowd. Mike looks after everybody with gusto and efficiency. I saw some other folks had whinged about some aspects of the hotel and location I think these type of tourists are expecting a Holiday Inn and Olive... More

2 nights on Isla Grande - Sister Moon Hotel. Arrived in the evening and upon arriving we felt like we were the only ones there - all dark - bar locked up and just one person to check us all in (5 rooms) But he handled it very well. The room (#1) was very nice view wise so we can... More

Furthest end of the Island away from the beach. But the hotel at that beach charges double what sister moon does lol. I recommend staying at a local family's home, with your own room... IF you speak spanish, we didn't so we chose privacy instead. No WIFI but they have a computer you can use if you pay. There is... More

I first went to Sister Moon in March with friends for a birthday party. We spent most of our stay hanging out at the hotel and only went to the town at night. The pool is amazing and the view from the deck is spectacular. We got welcome cocktails on the deck when we arrived! I personally loved the ambiance,... More

We paid $90 for 5 people for one night. We shared a deck with another room, and the deck looked out over the ocean. We had chairs and a hammock on the deck, which my children loved. There is no air conditioning, but lots of fans in the room. We could not open the windows because there were no screens,... More

The hotel itself is great, the service was not good at all. The entire hotel was being run by only one person who was not very attentive to our needs. There was no water in the rooms.. After being at the beach all day, and going for a shower, it was not pleasent finding that there was no water. When... More

We reserved a cabin via email with the owner a couple weeks before our arrival around Christmas 2011. We have two young children and was told we'd have a double bed and a bunk bed. We showed up on Dec. 23rd and were told we couldn't have our room. Initially we were told it was occupied, but no one else... More

Sister Moon was an amazing start to our vacation in Panama! I went with my two sons, ages 10 and 14. It was so refreshing to have them leave behind all electronic gadgets and just enjoy the beauty that Mother Nature intended! The rooms were wonderful and facing the ocean so we could fall asleep to the sound of waves... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Sister Moon is an Eco Lodge situated on the Atlantic (Caribbean) side of Panama, at the end of Isla Grande in front of a reef where you will find charming cabins dispersed along the hill. Sleeping in a natural fresh air environment where you can hear the waves breaking as you fall asleep is a unique experience. To go back in time for a short period to a place that has no clocks or schedules, where there is no hurry or need for communication, to rest and relax in the inviting pool and enjoy a dish of island cooking prepared especially for you with more than just seasoning, we add a bit of Panamanian hospitality along with it. We want that your stay in Sister Moon recharges you with positive energy and gives you a break from the hectic day to day life surrounded by nature in an informal island setting. This picturesque Eco Lodge has eleven small rustic cabins: six rooms with a double bed; two rooms with two double beds; and one room with a double bed and a single bed. Each room has an en-suite bathroom and hammock with a balcony. We also have two separate general rooms; one for ladies and one for men, for the backpackers, surfers, or groups larger than five guests who would like to visit that have eight beds in each room. We also have a small open air restaurant, a bar and a pool table for your enjoyment. We are a pet friendly hotel but do ask a nominal per day fee to have your favorite pet roam around the property. Since this is a small Eco Lodge we would request that when you decide to visit us, you should secure your reservation by making an advanced payment in full. ... more   less
