We have been travelling for a month and wanted to go to the lava tubes as we had seen them on TV. Reached all our expectations and were lucky enough to have Bram, a family member as our guide. He was honest, informative, helpful, funny AND a terrific singer!!!! We stayed in the swag tents.... The best comfortable sleep I... More

I spent two night at Undara, staying in one of the converted train carriages. I arrived before the scheduled check-in time, but after ensuring that my "room" had been cleaned I was directed towards it. I had an cabin with en suite. Most of the space was filled by the large bed, the only other furniture being a fixed railway... More

Driving on the Gulf Development Road, you need to turn inland at the sign for the Lava Tubes. They have facilities for tents and motorhomes. The accomodations are either basic in railwaywaggons or more luxery in airconditioned rooms with bathroom, private veranda, fridge,... In the restaurant, we ate the best barramundi (fish) ever! Staff was very helpfull and friendly. In... More

We opted for a camp site rather than one of the cabins. There was so much room! The amenities were close but not too close. Each camp site has it's own recessed fire pit, a little concreted area you can build a fire and boil the billy. You can buy wood from reception for $8. There's a campfire presentation at... More

We had heard about Undara from fellow travellers in Dubbo so when we found ourselves in Cairns decided to make the trip out. We had a package that included a sunset tour, dinner, overnight accommodation in a restored railway carriage, bush breakfast and the 2 hour lava tube tour. We loved it all. The accommodation was basic, but hey it... More

There is something here to suit everyone. From the moment one arrives it is obvious that Undara is something very special. The railway carriage accommodation is unique, comfortable and very affordable. I also had an inspection of other accommodation options from unpowered tent sites to powered ones, permanent "glam tents", cabins and van/motorhome sites, all beautifully located in a wonderfully... They've been there for 23 years and were the first - and they deserve to be there at least another 23! Can't speak highly enough of this sensational place. Excellent facilities catering for all levels of visitors. From top end accommodation in the Pioneer Cabins across the board to camping spaces, ritzy tents and much more. Their Bushmans' Breakfast is... More

Compliments to the crew of Undarra Experience for the great weekend we had last week. It was a well organised festival with great music. It was great value for money to have so many hours of music. The session on Sunday morning was great fun and my compliments to the artists who kept us on our toes. We are regulars... More

We stayed here for 2 nights, camping. The restaurant and bar were very nice, rebuilt old train carriages. The campsites were clean not too close to one another and there is a good public kitchen. But not much shade. The lava tube tour was fantastic.

We have just come back from our "Undarra Experience". I booked directly through the Resort which was so easy. We decided on the 2 day experience which worked out so well. Checkin was easy with very friendly knowledgable and helpful staff. Our one bedroom unit was spotlessly clean, great bathroom, well equipped and peaceful, comfortable bed and noTV or radio!... More
