This is a wonderful place to stay, with friendly, helpful staff, comfortable rooms, excellent real ale, delicious meals (served in the dining room with a panoramic view), a comfortable lounge and a drying room for wet walking boots etc. I stayed in March whilst on a short walking break. If you're walking the Pennine Way or Coast to Coast and... More

What a superb location, in the middle of the hills with a overwhelming vieuw from the dining restaurant. We arrived in bad weather, heavy rain made our boots and raingear wet. But wonderwell Keld Lodge has a drying room. Our bedroom looked over the hills at the fron side. Amazing good vieuw! Dinner was very good, i advice the lamb... More

went for a quiet weekend (well to get fresh country air, lots of exercise, be looked after). had all these in abundance. Location is just fantastic. Walking, swimming (wild swimming nearby), climbing top rate. Away from it all but in heart of stunning area. For the ones who don't want to walk, great villages nearby to visit and eat cake... More

Keld Lodge is like the modern pentathlete of Country hotels and pubs -it does everything very well - food drink ,accomodation If you like walking you are in for a treat - Matts sense of humour takes sometime to get used to but he is an excellent host - I challenge anyone to not enjoy Keld Lodge

This was one of our group's best overnight stays on the Coast to Coast path. The welcome could not have been better after a wet transit over Nine Standards Rig - "leave your boots and gaiters at the door and I'll hose them down for you and put them in the drying room!" Yes, the hotel has a brilliant drying... More

A warm welcome was followed by complimentary tea and cakes and a chance to chat to other guests in a very pleasant lounge. Lovely views from all the windows. Great bar and restaurant – high class food and service at reasonable prices. Owner Nick and manager Matt could not have been more helpful. Strongly recommended.

We received a very warm welcome and the great hospitality kept going from there. Warm and squeaky clean rooms. The whole hotel is decorated and maintained to a high standard. The menu was varied and very carefully thought out - something for all tastes and appetites. Our thanks to Matt and his team who made our stay perfect. Robert &... More
