A fully modernised old building. Close to the motorway network but not too close! Large rooms. Big comfy bed. Good views from the "better" rooms. It's our second stay. The first time was before the refurb, but it was still good then. Restaurant is a large room on the top floor in the old part of the building with exposed... More

It is a great shame that most people will only come here en route to/from Bilbao. There is nothing in Argomaniz except for this Parador. However, if you are leaving the country from Bilbao, it is an excellent way to say Goodbye. The building is illustrated on its website. The conversion of the old building and the adding on of... This was our sixth parador of the holiday and although the room was modern it was very comfortable. It is located near a main road close to Vitoria Gasteiz, in a tiny village. It is very easy to find unlike some of the other Paradores. The man on the reception was friendly and helpful and he upgraded our room to... More

I had heard that the standards in some Paradors had slipped. Not a problem here! This Parador is situated in a tiny hamlet, with as far as I could seen, no other facilities, and has views of the plains and mountains ( still snow capped ). We had booked into a standard room for our 1 night stay, but were... More

This was the third stop on our trip from the UK to Portugal. The Parador was the most expensive of the three hotels we stayed in at €166 for a Superior room. We were not disappointed! Our room was gorgeous, understated and elegant in a modern way. Fabulous bathroom, and lovely views. Staff were professional and exceedingly helpful at all... More

Stayed here during December 2012. Reserved a superior double room and was upgraded to a junior suite - a superb room with fantastic views of the surround countryside. The room was superb. Spacious sitting area along with bedroom and a very spacious bathroom with whirlpool bath. The hotel has free WiFi; the signal strength was not great in the room;... More

Friendly check in staff and helpful. Room very comfortable and beds and pillows in particular.Dining experience only average. Again I feel menus are okay, but sometimes it would be good to have a few lighter items on the menu as well as not everyone wants a really heavy meal. Service was average. Breakfast was again not quite up to what I... More

As usual you cant fault the rooms, service and food. But it would be nice to have internet in the rooms. The restaurant is stunning but was a little chilly. Argomaniz has nothing as a village so it is basically a stop over en route to somewhere, but a very good one.

This perfect stopover is beautiful BUT Argomaniz consists of the Parador (which is very old) and a couple of dozen houses (which are very new). The Parador is spotlessly clean as usual, the staff friendly and helpful, and overall very friendly. Best to eat in and if you want dinner as well as breakfast best to join the Amigos (Friends)... Argomaniz is a small village near Vitoria in the Rioja and consequently many of the people are tri-lingual in English and Basque as well as Castillian. This doesn't make road signs any easier to read! Nevertheless the place is easy to find and has a good outlook across the plain, although we were unfortunate in that it was overcast or... More
