My new husband and I stayed here for 4 nights during our honeymoon in Crete. We stayed in room 7 which I was told used to be the bedroom of the leader of the Cretan resistance in WW2. When I arrived in the room I thought it was lovely, very big, well furnished with a lovely sofa. When I opened... More

We both needed real relaxation; being cut off from the busy urban life and feelinf away from everything. And this is exactly what we got at lovely elia. I would really describe this hotel as a little gem, well hidden, between mountains, olive trees, crickets and goats. We really had the feeling of being home away from home. Elia gives... More

We returned for a fortnight at Elia last autumn, having stayed a week eighteen months before. The hotel is located inland in a glorious spot with fantastic views down to Kolymbari, and you really feel away from the bustle. The pool is lovely. Nonetheless, it's well placed for easy access to some of the island's best beaches, sights and good... More

The hotel is well away from the mass tourism sites in Crete but is easy to find being just a few minutes of the National Road. The farmhouse has been convereted with great attention to detail so that it is comfortable accommodation but with an historic feel. The siting is wonderful being well away from traffic noise and the view... More

Travelling with Elizawashere we arrived late in the traditional hotel. They were expecting us and even made us a nice greek meal at 22:30u. Although we stayed in the standard room (and they have several luxurious ones) we found all we needed and the A/C we didn't even use. You definitely need some protection against the musquitos if you dodn't... More

Jo, the manager gave me a lovely welcome and because it's still early in the season, gave me the best room available - with a four poster bed, huge veranda - completely beautiful. I had done a lot of driving in the week before, so just wanted a few days here to completely relax and I couldn't have found abetter... More

We have just returned from a relaxing holiday at Elia. It is a wonderful small hotel in a 200 year old farmhouse run like a country house. very peaceful with lovely walks in the vicinity and further afield. wonderful greek food cooked by the chef Taki. Jo is the manager and really knows how to make you feel welcome but... More

My husband and I and our two small dogs spent a very peaceful and casual week at the lovely Elia Inn. It has less than 10 rooms I believe, some with private balconies if you want private dining, each different and tastefully renovated, as is the entire premises,. The pool and dining area are serene with a lovely view of... More

This place is advertised as a spa yet I had to book everything in advance. The sauna and steam rooms need a while to warm up and on the day we wanted massages, the woman (who lives half an hour away) was not available. I asked where the vegetable garden was to see the fresh produce that is mentioned in... More

I feel this report has been written very unfairly, and obviously based on no real knowledge of how or where we shop from. We do have a small vegetable garden, which we use when in season, (though not enough to cater for the whole hotel) - we do grow all our own herbs and have many fruit trees in the... More
