Taormina (and Mazzaro, at the base of the cliff) can be very expensive and crowded in the high season, but remains very special nevertheless. This hotel is at the base (Mazzaro), close to cable car and close to the small beaches. In August 2011 only part of the hotel was renovated and not everything around was perfect (lobby and pool... Hotel is nothing like the pictures on the website from the rooms we received...nothing like a 4 star hotel, some B&B have better standards. Hotel staff were rather lackiing in any customer service area, hotel manager never found when you were complaining....A terrible experience, worst hotel i have ever stayed in SICILY. More

This is no way a four star hotel - more like a one star. We checked out after a couple of days and stayed in the Grand Hotel Mazarro Sea Palace which was perfect. More

It looks that the rooms are part of the ancient ruins around. You can see the bricks in parts of the walls room, and the humidity odor is intense. Our room was dirty… really dirty. More

Very disappointed in this hotel. Price/quality ratio is terribly low. It’s a shame that this hotel is qualified as a 4 star hotel. The swimming pool was very dirty and looked over a building excavation on the other end of the street. Not the nice view you see on the photos on the website. Except for the suites in the... More

Avoid this hotel. Food is terrible with poor service. They may attempt to over charge your bar bill. The rooms are filthy and very badly maintained. Mould on the walls, plaster so damp it's dropping off. Black mould around bath. No ventilation of the bathroom/WC except to the bedroom. If this is Italian 4* then they need to send their... More

Travelled here with Voyages Jules Verne. The dinners at this hotel were a disgrace. The "chef" was incapable of even making an omelette. The “omelette” they served us bore more relationship to a Michelin tyre than something fit to eat. After the first dinner experience, the number of people in our tour eating evening meals at the hotel started to... More

We stayed with 44 people in the hotel. Breakfast is verry good and people at the reception are friendly. The food in the restaurant is verry, verry bad (I've never had this food, not even in a 1 star hotel), the waiters (except Rosie) are rude and unpolite (only beautifull woman can get supplements). Complains to the management are being... More

with the exception of 1 young female , the waiting staff were rude , indifferent , sneering and totally incompetent. As part of a group tour our evening menu had a choice of 2 dishes ; pork or ........dolphin stew!!!!!!!!!! the vegetables were even better!!!!!!! green beans [they were ok] and 1 small potato. Our room was nice , although... More

The bedroom was OK although the bathroom was small and smelt a bit funny. Bed was pretty uncomfortable - felt more like an IBIS than a 'four star' hotel. Balcony overlooked nothing of interest - although I would think some of the rooms at the front must have quite good views. It's in a reasonable location and the staff were... More
