We were on a weekend trip, dedicated solely to seeing Pandas, both in Chengdu and up at the Panda preserve. Given that Wolong is countryside, I wasn't expecting much. We stayed in this hotel as it is close to the Wolong Panda Breeding Centre. Hotel accommodation in the area is very limited. The journey to Wolong from Chengdu was a bit tough as the road is still being built. It took us five and a half hours, but we met someone who was on the road for 13 hours.... More

As of May 2007, Wolong Hotel is about 5 hrs drive from Chengdu due to the road condition. But don't let that discourage your from getting up there to see the pandas, many big tour buses still drive up there full of tourists!
