Beautiful hotel that is being completely refurbished. Decorated with excellent taste, very well situated and a warm welcome was given by the staff. Sauna and wellness available, which were very nice after a long day's drive, are included in the price.

The hotel is currently refurbishing and modernising the hotel but keeping the traditional German style I prefer. Hotel will be beautiful. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Gengenbach as a town is great all year around.

We had a 6 night stay at Die Reichsstadt at the end of July into August and loved every moment of it. We didn't stay here we went to the restaurant in the evening and wow the food was good. We both had the fish menu and each of the 4 courses were outstanding. It was very expensive but worth every penny and would highly recommend for a special occasion.

We seated here on night on a cycling trip. Well managed hotel - good rooms etc. We ate in the restaurant where the service was very bad but the food excellent. I have to say, unlike other reviews, that the breakfast was at the bottom end of acceptable in terms of variety etc. Gengenbach us a lovely town.
