What a lovely old house - cosy, comfortable and delightfully furnished. A warm weklcome from our hosts - David & Christine too, and one of the best breakfasts ever - trying the 'Heavenly Porridge' is a MUST! More

We have not long returned from a wonderful three nights stay in the Old Rectory. Our room (Jill) was just lovely with many personal touches such as fresh milk on arrival (for the much needed cup of tea). There is a small fridge provided in which to keep the milk. Also on arrival we were given some delicious local delicacy... More

Just returned from our 6th visit to the old rectory so it really goes without saying that this is a magical place. There is so much to do right from the door, Howick gardens is a must as is the tea room with delicious home made food. The walking is second to none and the scenery breathtaking. Lots of places... As per other reviews, it's a lovely house and the rooms are really comfortable. Food excellent and the lady who actually serves the breakfast is chatty and welcoming. Downsides ? Yes, actually - at breakfast, seats are "allocated", rather like being at school. Surely one of the bonuses of being prompt is that you get to choose where you sit... More

We stayed for 3 nights with a very young baby and couldn't fault the Old Rectory. The Holly Bedroom was perfect and spacious with even a fridge, which made things easier to travel with a baby. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast that kept us going all day. David and Christine made us feel do welcome we can't wait to come back! More
