We were recommended The Lily Dutch Windmill by a work colleague of my husband. We received a very warm welcome from Pleun, Hennie & Ted (the dog). Pleun & Hennie prepared us dinner and a breakfast basket to get us started. We stayed in the Millers Cottage which was just perfect, very cosy & comfortable ~ a lovely place to... More

I drove from Perth with my two sons to stay in the Millers quarters o/night and tackle Bluff Knoll in the morning. Everything was spot-on at The Lily and after some of the places we've stayed it's quite a relief to arrive and not have any disappointments. Had a great musical interlude with Pleun and the short visit was topped... More

We’d never stayed here before, but the minute we stepped into the Dutch Cottage we felt as if we’d come home. Soft music was playing, fairy lights were twinkling, the wood basket beside the little stove was full, books teetered on shelves and elephants covered every available surface (each of the 4 quarters/cottages has an animal theme - we’d got... We are just back from spending a night at The Lily, for our wedding anniversary, at the recommendation of friends. We'd heard it was good but we weren't prepared for how good. The Lily has its own airstrip, an added attraction for my keen aviator husband, and Pleun met us and directed us to a good spot to tie down.... More

Part of a great holiday for me is not just where you go but also where you stay. To me there is no point staying somewhere (being a family of 4) if all you've got in your accommodation is a cane chair, a 2 seater couch and a dining table - sitting at a dining table isn't relaxing.... So treat... More

As regular trippers, Australia and world wide, for the last forty or so years, the Lily is perhaps the most welcoming, best equipped, and ideally located accommodation that we have come across. We will be back. Our hosts were most welcoming and the dog took me for a walk to the vineyard to see the wonderful views of the Stirling... More

After spending time hiking or looking at the majestic scenery and native vegetation of this region of WA, why rough it when you can feel warm and cosy in a homely environment. Myself and my two friends enjoyed ourselves, loved the food. We need more people in this country who are prepared to provide this level of attention to detail... More

We found out about Lily Dutch Cottage through reviews and decided to cancel a night stay in Albany just to stay there for a night. We arrived at Lily before sunset driving down from Perth, Pleun came to show us the house and offer to prepare dinner if we need any. We Learnt that it was Hennie's birthday that night... More

We recently stayed at the Lily for the second time, this time in the Millers' Quarters, which has two bedrooms. Again it was extremely comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. When I booked, I had asked if dinner was available and was told that it was, but I didn't realise that it wasn't in the restaurant,... More

The most amazing place I've ever stayed at. We arrived at night and were shown to our accomodation (the Winery Quarters) by our warm and welcoming hosts, Pleun and Hennie, and discovered a cosy quarters glowing with lamps, a wood fire and romantic music playing in the CD player. The self-contained quarters had everything you could ever wish for. The... More
