In an on-line search for a hotel with reasonable rates in the western Loire region, we came across Le Castel in Brissac-Quince and are so glad we did! It's in an ideal location to be a home-base for exploring numerous sites: the Brissac castle is just across the street, and it's only a short drive to Angers, Saumur, Montreuil-Bellay, Doue'-la-Fontaine,... The hotel is in the centre of Brissac Quince (which is very small anyways), it has a nice garden with tables and chairs where you can have breakfast or just relax during the day. We stayed in this little 2 star hotel in June while on a touring holiday in the Loire and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice.
