I traveled to Nagano in April with friends to mainly see the snow monkeys. We were awarded with a very full trip and actually left without seeing everything we wanted to experience. There turned out to be so much more to the area than we imagined. One of the highlights to our trip was the Hotel Ryokan Biyunayado. The staff... More

This is definitely a must go place to stay if you want to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan. The service is incredible, the food was amazing and the rooms were clean and comfortable. You'd be hard pressed to find a better accommodation anywhere else. Well worth the money.

I am still thinking about how amazing this Ryokan was to stay in, and it's been 3 weeks since we got back home to Melbourne! Not only were all the staff friendly and so helpful, the Ryokan itself is stunning with brilliant views. We stayed in Yudanaka to see the snow monkeys, to which we were driven there by a... More

My husband and I with our two adult daughters recently spent one night at Ryokan Biyunoyado and it was just what we were looking for - an authentic Japanese experience. We had one double and one twin room and they were both of a reasonable size with great views. We weren't sure what sleeping on the floor would be like... More

We have always wanted to see the Snow Monkeys and decided to finally visit on our way back to the States from Seoul. We found Ryokan Biyunoyado on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed! We felt like we were at home the minute we arrived. The hotel staff is great and the lobby is modern, comfortable and has a great... More

My first time to visit Nagano city. Mid April is the best season to visit Nagano, I should say. You will be able to enjoy cehrry blossoms, plum blossoms, and apricot blossoms at the same time which does not happen in the cities. This place is surrounded by beautiful mountains got some snow on the top of the mountains. BEAUTIFUL!... More

We stayed here in March 2013 and loved our stay. The onsen are nice, the kaiseiki (traditional Japanese meal) was the best of our stay in Japan probably, the service is excellent, the room are spacious and very clean. Seeing the snow monkeys - which the hotel lifts you to as a free service - was a major highlight of... More

We stayed here in March for one night. This is a nice ryokan with a great dinner - really good experience to try a traditional Japanese meal. The staff spoke little English but this was not a problem. They took us to the monkey park and collected us with no issue. We got a taxi from the station which was... More

I stayed at this ryokan for the first time, and it was so great! The people were amazingly friendly and so helpful! This place was nice and quiet. and had great traditional "theme" and I really enjoyed the culture. I recommend EVERYONE to stay here at this ryokan! Free shuttle service from/to the station as well as the monkey park!!!!!!!

Our stay at Ryokan Biyunoyado was even better than we expected! From start to finish it was an awesome experience. We were met at the station by Masa who went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect, he gave us a map of the area that he highlighted with the best route for walking around, he even...
