Just spent two nights at the Horse and Groom and it was a real treat. Friendly welcome, nice comfortable room, fantastic food, really can't recommend it enough, I've done nothing but rave about it since I got back. I honestly can't think of anything I'd change.

I love the Horse & Groom. It is a lovely pub set on the edge of Milcombe. The hosts are always so welcoming and now know me by name. The food is quite simply outstanding - I have never had a bad meal there...the chips are out of this world good! The bar is cosy and beautifully decorated with a... More

I stayed almost every week for a year from Oct 2011 to Oct 2012 whilst working in Banbury and to say the experience was simply outstanding is an understatement. The accommodation was excellent and the food even better, the friendliness of the hosts was exceptional and the regular patrons were also welcoming. Whether you are planning a short stay or... More

Just enjoyed a two night stay here whilst on business in the Banbury area. I cannot recommend this quaint country pub highly enough with it's olde worldly charm, great atmosphere, pleasant attentive staff and fantastic food from an extensive menu. My room was spacious, rustic, comfortable and spotless....after a great nights sleep the day was set up nicely by the hearty... More

Recently stayed overnight on our way to south coast. We had Room 1 as I'd asked for a quiet room and it was very peaceful with a velux window to see the stars :) I loved the way it was decorated in keeping with the old style of the building but still managed to feel light and contemporary. We did... More

went here for a pre organised 70th Birthday. The food was lovely and presented very well. The staff worked hard to make the evening a joy for all. Will be going back to eat again hopefully soon. The owners have made some decor changes inside which gives a lovely atmosphere. Prices are also reasonable

Stayed for just one night but wish it was longer! The bar had a lovely relaxed feel to it - roaring fire, candle lit tables, with the rustic charm of exposed stone walls and wooden beams. The pub was busy for a Thursday evening and is clearly a popular place to eat (it was steak night). The staff were extremely... More

Looking for a stopover on route from Bristol to Cambridge with my wife on Valentines night and found the Horse and Groom with excellent reviews on trip advisor. The Pub bar is welcoming with a cosy feel to it, Accommodation is good honest value for money with large rooms; we were over the bar but experienced no problems with noise.... More

We booked a table for 20 people for a special birthday. We met with the chef and he was very helpful in every way. He gave us a special menu from which to choose and then returned our choices to him, each person having selected exactly what they wanted. On the night, everything was ready as ordered, in terms of... More

Stayed on a Friday night, with my partner. Great atmosphere in the bar, upon arrival. Car park on other side of the road was a bit tricky to see, but lots of space. Evening meal was beautifully cooked, tasty chips which were listed as triple cooked. Everything cooked to perfection. Room was a good size with a huge bathroom and... More
