Downings has several hotels including The Beach Hotel almost next door. Midweek at the end of April 2013 only two of the forty rooms were occupied but don't be put off as the accommodation is very good and there is a modern lift if you are on the first or second floor. As others have commented the bedrooms are very... More

We stayed at Downings Bay Hotel for a long weekend in April and had a really great time! It's a lovely hotel with spacious rooms, which are spotlessly clean, a nice bar and staff - super helpful and very, very friendly. The Irish breakfast we had was big and delicious. The hotel is just a few seconds away from the... More

Stayed here over christmas and it was the ideal quiet break away. The staff were lovely the setting was really christmassy and it was a really nice relaxing break. Brought my son back up and we spent new years here. Again it was nice and relaxing, really welcoming. There is a ballpark and swimming pool near by that you get... More

Stayed here over Easter with my 2 kids and parents and had a lovely time. The hotel was spotless, rooms were spacious and we got interconnecting rooms so the girls could go between the rooms. The breakfast was tasty and Bar food had so much choice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We also used the nearby swimming pool... More

Have stayed here a few times and have never been disappointed so I thought it was about time I shared my experiences. The hotel is immaculately kept with rooms large, airy and spotless. We stayed with our two children and there was plenty of room and wardrobe space for us all. Breakfast was lovely, waitresses friendly and helpful and the... More

Stayed here twice as part of a golfing trip which included staying at nearby Rosapenna hotel. The bay is a nice hotel with good clean rooms decorated to a reasonable standard. Thursday nights in the lounge offer a great 3 course meal deal which is very tasty and by the amount of patrons about obviously very popular. Breakfast is very... More

Stayed here for one night.Rooms quite spacious and spotlessly clean and comfortable. We just wanted a peaceful break away to recharge the batteries. On booking i requested a quiet room and as this was off peak season i thought this would,nt be a problem. When checking in we found that we were put right next to a family. This wasn,t a problem... More

Stayed here for two nights, meeting up with friends who recommended this hotel as a good base for experiencing the Atlantic Drive. We were not disappointed. Hotel is well situated in the heart of the Downings village, right next to the lovely beach. Free parking. Rooms spacious, clean and well furnished. Restaurant reasonably priced with good choice. We stayed in the Downings Bay Hotel over New Year and has a great time. The rooms are lovely as are the staff and the food was great as was the entertainment. We found that the drinks were very reasonably priced and the hotel itself had a warm friendly vibe. We will definately be back next year if not before.
