The location is a good 30 minute drive away from any major towns/snowdon walks. The inn is v well appointed, full of historic character but all the luxuries are there and the rooms/decor are to a very high standard and v clean The owners, Tim and Fiona, are v welcoming, always greeting you by name, remembering your usual orders etc.... We stayed here for a weekend, owners very welcoming, the food was excellent and the rooms were a place from home, it was like a four star hotel. I will suggest this place to anyone wanting a weekend away, weather sight seeing or relaxing. More

Imagine sitting by a crackling fire, the sounds of friendly voices and laughter bubbling through the rustic space as you drink to your hearts content, then being shown to a table to enjoy some of the best food imaginable, choose a DVD from an extensive library and come to rest in a warm inviting bedroom. You cannot help but feel very special when you stay at the Lion Inn. The hosts, Fiona and Tim do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible! Our room was woderful, warm, inviting, cosy, with all amenities, ensuite, hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities (even biscuits) quiet. The food was amazing!! Fiona must have studied at the Cordon Bleu... After a long day of driving from London, traveling over the hills and through the woods to this tiny village, we found very inviting hosts. As everyone has said, Tim and Fiona are delightful in every way. On our request, we received restaurant and sightseeing recommendations, history of the area, and insight into Welsh living. The accomodations were outstanding and... More

We stayed for three nights over the New Year break and had a fantastic time. Fiona and Tim were brilliant from the start. The rooms were spotless and warm and cosy, but the highlight had to be the food. Fiona's cooking was out of this world and I haven't dared get on the scales yet. The location was great for... More

When the decision was made to travel from South to North Wales with friends for the Snowdon Marathon, we found The Lion Inn on the internet after a Sunday of much debate as to where we should stay. It was the one resting place upon which we could all agree and we were certainly not disappointed. Tim and Fiona were... More
