My mom and I spent a week at hacienda Guaro Viejo in september of 2022. The view from the casitas is just amazing to wake up to. it is a very calm and beautiful location, if you like to have a nice recharging holiday, this place it the place to be. We took it with breakfast and we were nicely surprised every morning with the variety of different breakfasts we got. the tips of Silvie and lars for every day trip we made was just suburb and things you don't find in your travel guides. In short this place felt like coming home, with a wonderful atmosphere and amazing hosts.

Me and my daughter (9 years) spent almost three weeks at the Hacienda during the summer holidays of 2016. The accommodation is very peaceful and is well taken care of. The hosts Judith and Gerrit are wonderful people: extremely hospitable and always willing to help. Rent a car and there are numerous things you can do: the beach, Ronda, the Caminito del Rey, Malaga, and so on.

We were a week on holiday with our family in this beautiful place. Everything is excellent from the minute you walk in and Gerrit comes along to help you with your suitcases,to the rides in his golfcar to see the animals, to the warm bread served to your door in the mornings, to the fantastic meals prepared by Judith. The houses are clean and cosy and the view you have from your terrace is unbelievable. I would recoomend this place to everyone and we will be back for sure. Thank you so much Gerrit and Judith

Looking for an apartment on the coast of Marbella, we stumbled on the reviews of the Hacienda Guaro Viejo and decided to book here. We have not regretted it one minute. The hosts Judith and Gerrit welcome you with open arms, from the first email contact you feel like going to family (not the obnoxious kind...). Grumpy from a long wait in the que for the car rental, we were immediately cheered up with a BBQ, fresh drinks and nice company. Judith helped us with the suitcases and the babybed (with real mattress!!!), and we were ready to go. In the morning you can order fresh bread and freshly pressed orange juice, and several days a week you can join the communal dinner (we highly recommend the pizza night), but it's no problem if you don't. From the hacienda you drive to Marbella in 35 minutes (Gerrit can draw you a map to a great little beach), to Malaga in 45 (take the bike tour!) or you can do a day tour to Ronda. You can expect a personal service and any help you might want --> our little one was stung by bees and Gerrit immediately brought over some anti histamine cream. Don't expect great luxury from the apartments (although they are renewing the interior which adds to that) but they are comfortable and adequate. For the little one, the covered terrace was ideal. He could play with water without getting sun burn. In the surrounding villages you can eat all the tapas you want and not break the bank (3 drinks+ 7 simple but amazing tapas = EUR 9,20). All in all, we would certainly go back.…

We were recommended by our Dutch friends to come here. We had a few days on the coast and felt it wasn't the real Spain! We arrived on a beautiful day and fell in love with view and the place. Gerrit and Judith were great, Gerrit recommended several places to visit during our small stay, and we were not disappointed. Ronda was lovely and the drive there is stunning! Also Malaga, so much history there plus a great restaurant called El Pimpi, try it, it's fantastic! We would recommend anyone to try Hacienda Guaro Viejo, it's rustic and welcoming.....we loved it!

I stayed here for 4 nights in early Nov 2012. Unfortunately, the weather was awful, with continuous rain. However, Garrit was so helpful and kind that I felt instantly at home. He went out of his way to help me out when stranded. I was not aware of the extreme location, imagining it were nearer to Guaro village. I would recommend u take a car if u stay here as it's a walk to the village and also situated up high. The road to it is pretty steep too. All in all a lovely rural location and great owners.

We stayed with the family Garcia del Rio and we were surprised by the location. There is a magnificient view over the hills in Andalusia. They provided a great service, everything you asked for was arranged in a minute or two. The little houses were spacious and equipped with airconditioning. A swimmingpool, a little small, was available to cool off from the sweaty conditions in Andalusia. The only thing we found a little annoying, was the presence of (screaming) children in the swimmingpool. Normally not a problem, but since the pool is rather small, we found ourselves rather reading and enjoying the landscape somewhere else. Definitely stay here!

This block of 7 appartments is run by two dutch with Spanish roots. All appartments have a beautiful view over the mountains and most of the times you can even see the sea. They will do anything to make your holiday special. My daughter went horsebackriding. The owner even brought us, since we lack spanish language skills to talk to the horse-owner. Also if you just want a quiet holiday without any hassle, you can have it here. Only few points which can be improved is the little pool (although very sufficient). And keep in mind that you need a rental car. At least 25 minute drive to get to any sights of interest. We had a wonderful experience! We have great respect for the owners putting so much work and effort in to make this place special!
