We spent two nights at the Hedervary Castle on a VBT bike tour, and loved it. The main building dates to the 16th century, but a building has been on this site since the 12th century. Out of respect for the historic building, the owner has chosen not to add intrusive improvements, like air conditioning. The hotel was comfortable without... More

We stayed here for two nights while on a wonderful VBT bike tour. The castle has been beautifully renovated to recreate the feeling of what it must have been like to be the guest of the original count and countess who lived here. The service is truly refined; we were treated like lords and ladies.

This hotel needs to be set in the context of one fact: Hedervary Castle was built in the 16th century, is one of Hungary's most important ancient monuments and is subject to all of the very necessary and appropriate conservation restrictions. When you stay here you are staying in an exceptional castle which is being preserved, conserved and improved through... More

We had a lovely time staying in the castle. Lovely grounds and location. Could do with some improvement with food and presentaion, gym and spa facilities. Breakfast is ok, but get your diner elsewhere (not good value and you have to order by 8 and leave the restaurant by 9. Beautiful interior and nicely decorated rooms. Visit the spa in... More

I've stayed at hundreds of hotels all over the world. I've never stayed at a hotel where nobody speaks english. The only languages understood are hungarian and german. As a result the staff speaks slowly and quite loud - in german. Not helping.

We stayed in Castle Héderváry for 3 nights, and loved the accommodation, food, and charming service. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfasts simple, and dinners excellent. The staff were very pleasant. We would recommend the carriage ride.

Just back from a long weekend at this fabulous 16th century castle hotel. The staff were charming , the accomodation spacious and very comfortable and clean and the atmosphere of the castle was just wonderful. Ok so the sun shone every day but it was a magical place. Just a few kilometers from the Danube river where you can use... More

Stayed at Hedervar for a romantic 4 day weekend and had a wonderful time. Excellent location, only 85km from Vienna airport. The castle has been tastefully renovated to provide an authentic antique feel without jeapordising any modern convenience. The room overlooked the maincured garden, had antique furniture and a flat screen Pioneer plasma. The service is impecable and food very... More
