Our booking had been transferred to the Grove House Hotel when the sister-hotel (Riverhill in Birkenhead) found that they could not take us. We have no complaints at all. We were treated like friends by everyone, and when an emergency made us stay an extra night we were immediately reassured that our room would be kept for us and we... More

This posting is for the restaurant which is open independently from the hotel... You are always welcomed with a warm greeting the minute your toe is through the door... My family have visited this restaurant on and off for over 25 years... It still remains on top of its game.. Good menu... Excellent food using quality produce.. No corners taken...... More

A very good hotel , plenty of parking at the rear by a large mature garden. Receptionist on arrival was very welcoming and friendly. Ask for a room over looking the garden , some at the front are over looked by a large albeit nice looking Tudor eatery come pub. Our room was very clean , fresh and mondern and... More

The Wirral is a lovely place to visit. It has everything, the scenery of North Wales and the rest of Cheshire, as well as shopping areas such as Liverpool. Chester is also on the doorstep, and like Liverpool is an excellent shopping area and is full of history. Wallasey is a seaside town with a lovely promenade and provides a... More

Close to metro station, 200/250 yards, and from there easy to access central Liverpool by train. Room was very pleasant albeit a bit small for a double. In fact it seemed only marginally bigger than 2 singles that I saw. Bit of a rabbit warren with small corridors going everwhere. Maybe that adds to its charm! Breakfast was enjoyable with... More

We discovered this gem thanks to our friends. We live so close but had never considered eating here- our minds have changed. The variety on the menu is not extensive but thoughtfully planned. As for the quality, we have never tasted steaks like them ever before and cooked to our request. Well, the homemade desserts! Just amazing. We have booked... More

The years have not been kind to the Grove House Hotel. At its core is a beautiful late Victorian property that the architectural terrorists have unsympathetically destroyed over the years. The 1960s were a particularly unkind era, and as you pull up outside the hotel screams "Drive on"...it is a mish mash of additions all covered in cream sandtex, and... More

We celebrated our Ruby Wedding Anniversary at the Grove House and it truly was amazing! Nothing was too much trouble. Our every request was "no problem". The conservatory where the meal was held was just gorgeous, and the meal was devine! We would most definitely use the Grove House again for a celebration. Well done to Nic and the team... More

Lovely decor and quaint little place. Rooms had everything you needed in them. The only 2 negative points were that there was a horrible smell in the bathroom and a bottle of wine cost me £19.99 and tasted like rubber lol Didn't use the restaurant so can't comment on that but have heard from others that the food is nice.... We had stayed in this hotel for a number of years, and always found it to be Clean, Tidy, Good Bar and nice restaurant. In Fact no faults with the hotal at all. However the dissapointment comes from the lack of information given by its staff. When booking over the phone 2 double rooms, and then a emailed conformaton at... More
