My partner, daughter and I stayed at Skygarth for a few nights at the beginning of August and I hope that we will stay there again soon. We received a warm welcome from our hostess Sheila, who showed us what was effectively our own wing of the large farmhouse. The sitting/breakfast room was ours alone as there was no other... More

stayed for 1 night after a day at centre parcs (only 5 mins away) and we had a great stay. Room was huge and well serviced with tea/coffee/water/towels etc. We asked for recommendations for evening meal and would say the local pub in village was worth a visit. Table was booked on our behalf and even arranged/provided transport to and... More

The B&B is set on a working cattle farm a few miles south of Penrith. The farm does not impose at all on the accommodation which is clean and very well appointed. Until recently the nearest pub was shut, but has recently reopened and serves fine food in the evenings. It is a couple of miles from the farm. The... More

We were walking Coast to Coast and arrived at Skygarth on the day of the West Cumbrian shootings. The owners were very kind, friendly and accommodating. The room was huge with everything we needed. As there was no one else staying we had virtually half of the B & B accommodation to ourselves, which we could lock to enjoy the... More

We stopped at Skygarth on our way back from Scotland. The B&B had been recommended by family and friends and we were not disappointed. The rooms were traditionally decorated which was in-keeping with the farm setting. They were imaculately clean and the extras were very much appreciated, helping to make our stay extremely comfortable. The welcome was warm and friendly... More

I echo what the two previous people have said. This was a wonderful find. We were travelling back from Scotland and needed somewhere to stay for one night to break up the journey and had given up on Keswick as most of the B&Bs aren't interested in one-nighters. I'm so glad they weren't as we may never have found Skygarth.... More

I've been to Skygarth a few times now and what a find! I accidentally came across it when I was a day visitor to friends who were staying in Center Parcs. I think I had the best part of the deal! Everything about it is perfect, the location is so quiet, beds are amazingly comfortable, welcome pack of shortbread and... More

Well I've put off writing this review for a while, just cos I'm terrified that Sheila won't have space for me when I want to stay. I can't recomend Skygath enough, really I can't. Set off the main road through Temple Sowerby, Skygarth is a working farm. We have been going there for the last 3 years round about mid... More
