My wife and I stayed at Dantica for three nights in early March and enjoyed it immensely. Since we were not renting a car in Costa Rica, we opted for the all-inclusive four-day adventure package which included transportation to and from San Jose, and it was absolutely worth it. All meals were included and every one was outstanding. Luis(I think)... More

This was the first stop on a months trip to Costa Rica and Panama. We stayed at many great lodges, but this remains one of my favourites. You really are in the forest in most of the lodge rooms, which are beautifuly, but simply, decorated . The valley itself is also beautiful and there are beautiful birds all around-including, of... 8000 feet above the Savreges valley, Dantica Lodge is truly breathtaking. Partly due to the first symptoms of altitude sickness if you're prone to it. We stayed in a bungalow near the main building on the first night, which was for the sake of expediency having arrived late. We then moved to a smaller little chalet abpout 1 km further... More

The lodge is so far up in the hills, sitting above the cloud line it feels like heaven! We had a 2 bedroom superior room (Bungalow). It was nothing short of wonderful. Both bedrooms had en suite bathrooms, one very large with a jacuzzi, the other smaller, with a shower. Both bathrooms very very well equipped wit towels, shower gel,... More

This place was great for getting away from the big birding groups at the end of the road. Food was outstanding and the staff where all great. Sure some of the cottages are a little bit of a walk down a trail into the forest, but this just adds to the special quality of Dantica. The four of us visiting are birders... More

This was the seventh hotel we stayed in during our one month tour of Costa Rica. Excerpt from my daily blog, as follows:- Day 19 Arrived at Dantica Lodge and at 2600 metres it is much colder than our previous stops. Dantica Lodge reception and restaurant is also an art gallery. Decor is very contemporary. Our cabin number 7, was... More

Dantica is the most relaxing place I have ever stayed. Beautiful scenery, friendly people, great food and a sense of serenity that is hard to find. A total getaway in the mountains of costa rica. Bring your jacket, it's chilly there at night. Very romantic chimaeneas in each bedroom, Burn all nite and create a very romantic environment. The food... More

It is just the most beautiful hotel I have never seen. The rooms have a wonderful view over the forest, they are very comfortable and all details have been carefully set. The trails around the hotel are very nice. All the staff is very friendly, especially the manager. The food is great too. More

We stayed in the Dantica Lodge for two nights. Stunning views from the bungalow. The food was the best we had in Costa Rica. Breakfast is on menu. For dinner only the best fresh products, e.g. the trout from San Gerardo!! The Quetzal tour with Carlos was great! More
