We had a friendly welcome after walking C2C. We booked an twin room, beds were good but the bathroom was very narrow and the room narrow. Breakfast was good, we liked the fruits and yogurt and the breakfast room is very cosy. We payed 75 pnd, in my opinion a bit to much for the narrow room.

Stayed in this guest house in April 2013 as part of our group's Coast to Coast odyssey. The welcome was extremely friendly and helpful in dealing with our dirty boots and this included a much appreciated cup of tea and piece of cake. The sign outside suggested that evening meals were available but this was not the case and may... More

I had a nice comfortable room. It's close by the center of the village and there are a couple of pubs where one can get an evening meal. It's a good place to stay if you are walking the Coast to Coast.

A warm welcome and a pot of tea with cake awaits you on arrival. This a well run guest house with good facilities and comfortable rooms. It is well placed near the village with its four main evening eating places. The breakfast is excellent. A small store that opens at 07:30 is just two doors away for stocking up for... More

we enjoyed a warm welcome at Hackney house after treking on the C2C from Keld. The accomodation was typical of good B&B, clean, good breakfast and adequate accomodation for one night . It is close to the town square, which boasts several pubs and tea rooms., all in all a good place to stop

A very warm welcome and overall this was a pleasant B@B - although the room was a tad cramped it had everything we needed, and the owner was very friendly. Excellent breakfast. On route of the Coast to Coast so perfect location.

On a cycling trip - second time we've stayed here and not regretted coming back. The proprietor makes you feel really welcome, tea and cake was put in the dining room for us when we arrived, the room/shower etc were absolutely spotless and really comfortable. There was a TV, books and magazines, tea & coffee in the room. Breakfast was... More

A very pleasant surprise to be offered tea and cake when we arrived after a days walking in the wet on the Coast to Coast route. Well appointed rooms with a choice of pubs for an evening meal in the village - we went to The Buck - vying to be the best pub in Yorkshire and with decent beer... More
