We stopped for food on our way back to Aberystwyth from Shrewsbury last Sunday 6th May. I would like to offer my apologies for the poor service you got from our hotel. We have spoken to the kitchen staff about this for it not to happen again. With regards to some of your comments, we do not use tinned peas - they are frozen. Also you have to order your food at the bar - the... More

Arrived at a busy time of day with a case so obviously staying guests, walked past one owner standing at the door who ignored us, Went to the bar to check in, the other owner was sitting opposite having a drink and also ignored us. There was only one barmaid who was very friendly... More

We can only apologise for the way you feel but I can however respond to your allegations. Firstly, and I do realise that you would not have known this, the Landlord/Owners brother had just passed away. This would have been the main reason for his lack of greeting when you arrived, the same going for the Landlady. The 'friends' that... More

Excellent value sunday lunch - a fiver for grown ups, four for kids- choice of four meats and wide range of veg. To be honest, it is a bit overcooked but where else can you can get a huge meal for this price (which would be hard to match at home)? More

Llanidloes is fine. The Red lion is a lively pub with youngish clientelle. The rooms are worn, threadbare, ill fitting windows and dirty showers. Sheets were clean. Don't stay here, try the Unicorn a few doors up.... or anywhere else in the town. I wouldn't eat here either. More

Apologies for the bad experience you had with us. We are actually in the process of doing all of the rooms up and refurbishing and improving our Hotel as much as we can under the current economic climate. Many of the carpets have now been replaced, the ill-fitting windows are due to be replaced when the front of the building... More
